An Introduction to Color Therapy

Color therapy and healing is a type of healing that uses the spectrum of light and color to affect a person’s mental and physical health. Each color has a specific frequency, that can be used to affect the energy within our bodies.

As we know that light enters through our eyes, it’s important to note that light can also enter through our skin too. Given the unique frequencies and vibrations of different colors, people believe that specific colors enter in the body can activate hormones causing chemical reactions in our body, which influence emotion and enable the body to heal.

Colors can affect people with emotional troubles. For example,

color blue: has a calming effect which leads in lower blood pressure,

color red : increase blood pressure, confidence

color green: used to relax people who are emotionally unbalanced

color yellow: used to help heal people who might be suffering from depression.

Apart from that, there are various techniques to know people’s aura. According to aura I am healing people.

A Brief History of Color Therapy

It’s no mystery that the sun and its source of light (or lack thereof), can have a profound effect on us. Thousands of years ago Egypt, Greece and China are known for their expertise into color healing and therapy.

  • Painting rooms different colors of treating certain conditions.
  • Use surroundings to change the mood of people
  • Use sunlight to heal people

So as art therapist, I am asking several questions to you.

Does color really affect you?

If you wear red how do you feel?

If you reach to the place surrounded by trees and grass how do you feel?

If you see the blue ocean how do you feel?
