Today, I want to talk about how we grow and we lost touch with the artistic/ creative side of us and how we can get back in touch with our real self again.
Everyone is born as an artist
The famous artist Pablo Picasso quoted:
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up”
This is the crux of what I am going to explain today. Everyone is born as a creator. We naturally by birth know how to express ourselves.
When you look at very young children, they don’t afraid to make art. Give them colors and they will go crazy. Give them drumsticks and they know how to make beats.
We are hardwired to express and create.
Then what happened to us, when we become adults? we lose that artistic child inside of us. We become more mature, calculative, not taking risks than creative.
Beliefs about ourselves
So many of us thinks that we are not creative. However, this is not real fact, but simply a belief.
Because we afraid for making art, we afraid of making mistakes. Which makes us reluctant about making art. We don’t even try it. And then we again explain that we are not that artistic.:-)
So what do we have to actually do?
How to nurture and grow your creative side again?
The most important thing you have to do is to change your belief about yourself. And how do you that?
- Let go of the label “non artistic” or “artistic.”
these label about ourselves confine us not to do creative things. I heard people they say I am not artistic. Let go this kind of label. - Don’t try to prove yourself.
You don’t need to try to prove that how good you are paining, when we try to prove we controlling the result and you lose the happiness of the creative process - Accept ourselves more
Accept what you are, you don’t need to be some great artist to enjoy the happiness of art. Art is not an competition.
Change the belief about yourself , and it will change you!
