Basic Shading techniques for Beginners

For Beginners first you need to understand 24 shades of colors in oil pastels. For that create 24 squares and fill plain color with color names as shown below.
Once you complete it start Gradation of Tones.
A tonal gradation is defined as value steps going from light to dark. In this exercise the students, have to paint the tonal gradation of a color of their choice, showing the steps in in video and above picture.
Above picture shows direction of light. In this white part is showing light. And dark part is showing shadow. Depending upon the source direction of shading will change. This strokes we have created using single tone.
